Students Experience What Community Has to Offer
Susan Odell Taylor School Students ride CDTA to Hannaford
TROY, NY (02/04/2011)(readMedia)-- The kindergarten, first and second grade classes at the Susan Odell Taylor School are learning about their community and the services that are offered. On February 10th the classes will embark on a learning adventure. First, the students will enjoy a program presented from the CDTA about the bus service that is offered in our region. The students will find out how to use a bus and how the CDTA bus service supports their community.
Next, the bus will deliver the students to the local Hannaford store for a "Guiding Stars" tour. The Guiding Stars program educates students about the labeling system used by Hannaford to indicate foods with more nutritional value. By giving students information about healthy eating, the students will have the knowledge they need to make better choices about foods in their daily lives.
Finally, the students will load back onto the CDTA bus and return to school. CDTA is providing transportation for the field trip free of charge.
