Students make holiday ornaments for Chupka family

Susan Odell Taylor School students hand make ornaments for family who lost all in house fire

TROY, NY (12/07/2010)(readMedia)-- On thursday afternoon, December 9, 2010, Jamie Chupka (daughter of John and Joyce Chupka) will come to the Susan Odell Taylor School (116 Pinewoods Avenue in Troy) along with her seven year old daughter, Hannah (who attended the Taylor School for the past five years).

Over a month after the Chupka family lost their home on Second Street in Troy, the community continues to show their support in various ways. The student's at the Taylor School wanted to show their love and support of their former classmate by making holiday ornaments for the family. The family lost all of their decorations in the fire.

The Chupka's are coming to the school to receive close to one hundred holiday ornaments all hand-made by the students. Students will sign his or her name to their ornament so Hannah will know which friend made it. Some ornaments will remain unfinished so that Hannah and her family can make some of their own.

Kelly Magoolaghan, Academic Director at the school, "Hannah and her family are a part of our school's community. The students and faculty all wanted to do something special for them during the holiday season".
