OAK PARK MI (12/06/2011)(readMedia)-- Kevin P. Stutler of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has been elected to a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association of the Midland States. ALAMS provides programs and services to the residents of Michigan, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio.

Stutler is Vice President of Specialty Products for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. The responsibilities of Specialty Products' include development and implementation of strategies for dental and vision products within the Group Sales and Corporate Marketing division, as well as positioning BCBSM to expand ancillary products and services to better serve the Michigan market.

Stutler has held a number of leadership roles prior to joining the Blues in 2011, including Regional Vice President of Specialty Sales & Distribution at WellPoint, Inc., and Senior Vice President of Financial Institutions/Group at American United Life Insurance Company. Stutler earned his bachelor's degree in history from The Ohio State University.

During his tenure on the board, Stutler hopes to create greater awareness around interstitial lung disease, an uncurable lung disease that affects a member of his family.

The mission of the American Lung Association is to save lives through the prevention of lung disease and lung health.
