The Corndog Kickoff is the Fundraising Piece of the Iowa State Fair Puzzle

DES MOINES, IA (07/08/2024) (readMedia)-- The 2024 Corndog Kickoff Benefit Auction is just around the corner. Thousands of Iowa State Fair fans will gather on Saturday, July 13, in the William C. Knapp Varied Industries Building to celebrate the Iowa State Fair. The evening will raise money for renovations of the historic Fairgrounds while attendees eat irresistible Fair foods, bid on unique auction items, enjoy a fireworks show, and much more.

The Blue Ribbon Foundation's mission is to provide high-quality facilities for all Fairgoers to enjoy during their visit to the Iowa State Fair and throughout the year. Since 1997, the Corndog Kickoff has been a vital piece of our mission and a pre-fair tradition, raising more than $8 million towards the restoration and preservation of the historic Iowa State Fairgrounds. Highlights from this year's auction include:

• Night in the Museum – A private dinner for eight catered in the Iowa State Fair Ralph Deets Historical Museum during the holidays. Ellen Hammond, resident historian, will take you on a behind-the-scenes tour and entertain you with her fun Fair stories.

• 50 Years of High Gliding – A pass for two to have unlimited rides on the Sky Glider for the 2024 Iowa State Fair

• Need a Favor – Four center stage tickets to the sold-out Jelly Roll Grandstand Concert on August 10. The package includes admission for four and a parking pass.

• What a Vacation Location! – A 7-night stay for up to 12 guests at Birchwood Estate in Adare, Ireland. The manor has 6 suites, 5 bathrooms, a kitchen, dining and living rooms, a home gym, a game room, and an indoor swimming pool.

If you are unable to attend, you can still enjoy "A Piece of the Puzzle" by bidding on silent auction items. Online bidding will open for the silent auction on Friday, July 12 at 10 AM and close on Saturday, July 13 at 8:30 PM. All auction packages will be on display at the event so attendees can see them up close and in person. To bid, you must register as a bidder on our online portal and provide the required information on the form, including a valid credit card number.

Doors open at 6:30 PM, the live auction starts at 8 PM, and the Flashing Thunder Fireworks Spectacular will conclude the evening at 10 PM.
