MONTGOMERY, AL (10/29/2010)(readMedia)-- The Soldiers of Bravo Company, 115th Expeditionary Signal Battalion (ESB), along with Field Service Representatives from PM WIN-T, in coordination and collaboration with Charlie Company, 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division "Green Falcons" integrated the first CONUS Regional Hub Node (RHN) at Fort Bragg into initial operating capability.
Becoming the first ESB to connect to the Fort Bragg Regional Hub Node, the Soldiers of Bravo Company validated the capabilities of the Fort Bragg Regional Hub Node and their newly fielded Joint Network Node (JNN) and Battalion Command Post Node (BnCPN), to provide the following tactical DISA services: 1) Non-secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET), 2) Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), 3) Defense Switched Network (DSN), 4) Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN), 5) DISN Video Services – Global (DVS-G) and 6) Voice Over Secure Internet Protocol (VOSIP). This achievement was the result of over four months of training during the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) New Equipment Training (NET) and fielding.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for Fort Bragg RHN on October 7 at 2:00 pm. The efforts of the Soldiers of Bravo Company, 115th ESB have ensured a milestone in the fielding of the Regional Hub Node. Five Regional Hub Nodes (RHNs) will be deployed at fixed locations in Europe, Southwest Asia (SWA), the Pacific, and on the east and west coasts of the United States to provide near worldwide coverage. These nodes will support Army forces worldwide with satellite, voice, and data services to support deploying forces as well as Army forces supporting local government during relief operations for natural disasters.
As a new era begins for the Soldiers of Bravo Company, it will bring new challenges and missions, but as displayed by their efforts over the last two weeks, the Soldiers of Bravo Company, 115th ESB consistently display they are trained and ready for any mission.
