WASHINGTON, DC (03/02/2012)(readMedia)-- Remember the thunder of the old school monster car shows at the Armory? Well, they're back! The third annual Car Show benefit at the D.C. National Guard Armory begins today until 9 p.m. and continues from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The purpose of the event is to benefit members of the D.C. National Guard, veterans and their families.
A variety of vehicles including classic, custom, street cars, muscle cars and even motorcycles and choppers will be on hand for the show, which is bigger and better than ever this year.
General admission is $10 and free for children under age 12. Tickets are available at the door. The Armory is located at 2001 E. Capital Street, Washington, DC 20003.
The Unity Thunder Car Club will host the event. The club has a storied history of supporting charitable organizations and community improvement projects. Funds generated by the car show will be used to support various morale, welfare and recreation programs and projects designed to meet the needs of Guard members, families and veterans.
The event is sponsored by the D.C. National Guard Enlisted Association, a non-profit organization that works on behalf of Guard members and their families.
