Tom Rispoli Named Scholar All-American
This is Rispoli's second consecutive Scholar All-American award
BROCKPORT, NY (03/20/2012)(readMedia)-- Senior Tom Rispoli (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) has been named to the 2011-2012 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Scholar All-American tea,. This is Rispoli's second consecutive Scholar All-American selection.
Rispoli, a physical education major, had a cumulative GPA of 3.93 this year which is the third highest in all of Division III wrestling. Rispoli was named the 2010-2011 Brockport Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Rispoli went 20-6 on the year in the 157 lb. weight class, including a 12-1 record against Division III opponents before going down with a season-ending injury. The senior came in first place at the Doug Parker Invitational at Springfield College on Nov. 19. The senior also had a third place finish on Nov. 5 at the Eastern Michigan Open. In three years of competition for the Golden Eagles, Rispoli posted a record of 65-24.
