Travis Renwick Named Brockport Athlete of the Week
BROCKPORT, NY (04/09/2013)(readMedia)-- Senior Travis Renwick (Middletown, NY/Chapel Field Christian) helped the Brockport Baseball team to two victories over No. 1 ranked Cortland over the weekend and has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 7.
Renwick was the starting pitcher in the first game of the three-game series with the Red Dragons, ranked No. 1 in last week's D3baseball.com national poll, and held Cortland to just one run over six innings of work and the Golden Eagles scored three times in the eighth inning for a 4-1 victory.
In game three of the series Saturday, Renwick was called on again – this time as a relief pitcher – and allowed just one run in the final two innings of the game to preserve a second Brockport win over Cortland as the Golden Eagles won a 10-8 decision in 11 innings in the second game of the Saturday doubleheader.
For the weekend, Renwick had eight innings of work, allowed two runs and struck out five batters. He leads Brockport with a 3-1 record this year.
