ST. PAUL, MINN. (11/20/2014)(readMedia)-- Twin Cities illustrator Adam Turman has been selected to create the Official 2015 Minnesota State Fair Commemorative Art. His original interpretation of the Great Minnesota Get-Together will be unveiled at the State Fairgrounds in June of 2015.

Turman is an illustrator, muralist, fine artist and screen printer well-known for creating distinctive visuals that have become iconic representations of local landmarks, craft breweries, eating establishments, charity events, music venues, and biking groups, to name just a few. His notable recent work includes outdoor murals on downtown Minneapolis' Butcher & the Boar restaurant and Sisyphus Brewery; posters for Surly Brewing, Kramarczuk's Kielbasa Festival, Electric Fetus, and Bob Seger & Kid Rock's 2013 show at Xcel Energy Center; graphics for Sierra Nevada Brewing, Peace Coffee's Breakaway Blend, Curt's Salsa, and Radio K; and covers for Bicycle Times Magazine.

"I am thrilled to be creating the 2015 commemorative art for the Minnesota State Fair," said Turman, a resident of St. Louis Park and graduate of the University of Minnesota. "I love the fair and look forward to capturing this iconic landmark for fair lovers all over the state of Minnesota. I really enjoy illustration because it gives me a reason to draw. Having a purpose or project or story to tell through drawing, for me, is the best reason to create art. The Great Minnesota Get-Together is that perfect project or story for me."

The commemorative poster, a limited number of signed, hand-rolled screen prints and other merchandise featuring the art will be available for purchase after the June unveiling. Proceeds will support the Minnesota State Fair Foundation 501(c)(3) mission to preserve and improve State Fair buildings, grounds and educational programs. The original art will be on display during the 12-day run of the 2015 State Fair. For more information on Adam Turman and the fair's commemorative art, visit www.mnstatefair.org/art.

In addition to the design and illustration work he does for clients, Turman also sells pieces at a variety of local shops and art events. On November 22, his "Minnesota Months" print will be built into 12 mosaic panels made from LEGO® bricks at Brickmania Toyworks in Northeast Minneapolis. On Dec. 5 and 6 he will be a part of No Coast Craft-O-Rama at Midtown Global Market in Minneapolis. Visit his website for more information at www.adamturman.com.

The 2015 Minnesota State Fair Commemorative Art will be the 12th in a series of artwork created annually for the Great Minnesota Get-Together.
