BEAVER FALLS, PA (10/17/2011)(readMedia)-- Dawn Vander Wagen from Aliquippa, Pa., is the recipient of the 2011 George Polovina Scholarship. Selected for her interest and excellence in mathematics, Vander Wagen is a junior mathematics education major at Geneva College.
The George Polovina Scholarship fund was created by his sister, Sophia Polovina White, to provide aid for Beaver County students studying mathematics at Geneva College. George Polovina taught math in the Aliquippa School District for 30 years, and White graduated from Geneva College in 1939 with a degree in mathematics.
