Aliquippa student receives Geneva College scholarship

BEAVER FALLS, PA (06/28/2011)(readMedia)-- Dawn Vander Wagen was recently awarded the 2011 George Polovina Scholarship. Dawn, a junior mathematics education major at Geneva College, was selected for her interest and excellence in mathematics. She is a local student from Aliquippa, PA.

The George Polovina Scholarship fund was created by George Polovina's sister, Sophia Polovina White, to provide aid for Beaver County students studying mathematics at Geneva College. George Polovina taught math in the Aliquippa School District for 30 years, and Sophia graduated from Geneva College in 1939 with a degree in mathematics.
