Corey Booth Named to SUNYAC All-Tournament Team

BROCKPORT, NY (05/07/2012)(readMedia)-- Corey Booth (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) of The College at Brockport Baseball team has been named to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Tournament team after Brockport finished as runners-up in the tournament.

Booth played in all five games over the week, including all four at the SUNYAC Tournament. In the tournament, Booth batted 6-14 for a .428 average with three RBI and two runs scored. The senior had a .555 on-base percentage. Against Oneonta in an elimination game on Saturday, Booth went 3-4 and drove in one run while scoring another. Against Cortland in the championship round, he was 2-4 with a walk. In 50 chances in the field in the four games, Booth did not make an error.

The Golden Eagles defeated Oneonta on day one of the tournament, but fell to Cortland on day two in the double-elimination game. Brockport came back and eliminated Oneonta to advance to the championship game against Cortland. The Golden Eagles held a 3-0 lead in the eighth but surrended four runs as Cortland claimed the title. Brockport was competing in its fifth consecutive SUNYAC Championship game.
