Dustin Colgan Headed to NCAA Championships

BROCKPORT, NY (05/23/2012)(readMedia)-- Senior Dustin Colgan (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) NY/Galway) of The College at Brockport Track and Field team is headed to the 2012 NCAA Championships in Claremont, California. The championships are hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges from May 24-26. The men's shot put will take place on Friday, set to begin at 4:05 pm, PST (7:05 pm, EST).

Colgan catapulted into the top 20 in Division III on his last attempt in the shot put at the ECAC Championships last week held at RPI. The senior sat at 16.25 meters through his first five throws then came through with a distance of 16.44 meters (53' 11.25") on his final attempt to finish in third place at the championships. Colgan's mark currently ranks 18th of all Division III shot put participants. The top men's distance on the year is 19.11 meters (62' 8.5").
