Elizabeth Carney Named ECAC Rookie Gymnast of the Week
The Freshman set two personal bests against West Chester University
BROCKPORT, NY (02/02/2012)(readMedia)-- Freshman Amanda Carney (Walpole, MA/Walpole) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Gymnast Rookie of the Week following her performance against West Chester University. The Golden Eagles defeated West Chester 186.000-181.525.
Competing on the floor exercise, Carney scored a personal best 9.525. The score was good enough for third place overall in the event, behind two other Brockport gymnasts.
Carney also set a personal best on the vault with a score of 9.375 to tie her for fourth place in the event. Carney was one of three Golden Eagles to finish in the top four spots in the event.
