Empire Page Website to Gain New Look, Content & Features
ALBANY, NY (08/01/2008)(readMedia)-- Starting Monday, August 4, visitors to the Empire Page (www.empirepage.com) will encounter a newly designed website that includes the first of several scheduled new content upgrades.
“The new site was motivated by a number of factors,” stated Peter G. Pollak, Publisher and Editor of the Empire Page. “The design needed to be brightened up, but we also needed to revamp the programming behind the site in order to be able to add more value to our subscribers.”
Press Release Section Added
A major addition to the new Empire Page is a separate section displaying press releases issued via readMedia, the Albany-based press release distribution company. Releases from government agencies, lobbying groups, elected officials, campaign committees and others will appear on the press release page within minutes of their being issued over readMedia’s newswire service.
The new site will also feature The Empire State Daybook – an events calendar – and a poll question of the week.
The Empire Page offers subscribers links daily to more than 150 news stories, columns and editorials focused on both New York State and national news. All postings are chosen by a team of editors who monitor dozens of news sites.
“We save our subscribers hours of searching daily,” Pollak stated “which is why we have such a loyal subscriber base.”
In addition to the news links, the new site preserves guest editorials and exclusive columns authored by Pollak and two regular columnists Stuart Brody and Paul Bray.
“New columns will be added in the coming weeks,” Pollak stated, “as will additional content areas.”
The new site was built with software from Initiate Commerce, Inc, an Albany-based software developer. The new web design is the work of Kelly Mullen of inVision Studios, an Albany-based design studio.
