Geneva College Commencement 2013

BEAVER FALLS, PA (05/01/2013)(readMedia)-- The spring semester is coming to a close and Geneva College seniors are finishing up their studies and preparing for graduation. Commencement ceremonies for these graduates will be held Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11.

Commencement events begin with a baccalaureate service on Friday, May 10 at 7 p.m. in Metheny Fieldhouse. Rev. Jerry C. Mead of Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Martinsburg, W.Va., will provide the message.

Traditional undergraduate commencement will be Saturday, May 11 at 10 a.m. at Reeves Field, weather permitting. Principal and Professor of New Testament for Reformed Theological College, Belfast, Northern Ireland, Rev. Edward A. Donnelly will deliver the commencement address.

Geneva College will award Rev. Donnelly an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree during commencement. The college will also bestow an honorary Doctor of Public Service on Karl L. Boak, former mayor for the City of Beaver Falls.

An outdoor reception for the graduates and their families will immediately follow on the lawn of Old Main.

In the case of inclement weather, commencement will be moved indoors to Metheny Fieldhouse, and tickets will be required to enter. Graduate and Adult Education Commencement will take place later on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Metheny Fieldhouse. Geneva alumni Craig M. Waller '98, Intellectual Property Attorney at Gordon & Rees, will be the featured speaker. Waller is also the founder and President of Patintelligent, a Pittsburgh-based intellectual asset management consulting company. A reception on the lawn of Old Main will follow the ceremony.
