BEAVER FALLS, PA (02/28/2014)(readMedia)-- Geneva College faculty will collaborate for a recital on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 7 p.m. in Old Main's John White Chapel. Dr. Byron Curtis, Professor of Bible; Mrs. Katie Donaldson, Adjunct Professor of Voice; and Dr. Sha Wang, Associate Professor of Music, will all participate in the performance.
"The concert is centered on children's themes, but is full of wonderful music appealing to all audiences," said Donaldson. "I'm looking forward to collaborating with Dr. Wang, an excellent pianist, to bring a lively and meaningful classical program to the Geneva campus."
Donaldson will be singing songs by Brahms and other composers in English and German.
Dr. Wang will perform The Story of Babar, the Elephant by French composer Poulenc, as Dr. Curtis narrates with a PowerPoint of the children's book illustrations.
"Musical adventures combine with spoken text to tell the story. The result is about 30 delightful minutes of musical story about a little elephant destined to become civilized, and king of the jungle," said Dr. Curtis. "I'm all ears for The Story of Babar. You should be all ears, too."
The concert is free and open to the public.
