BROCKPORT, NY (10/23/2012)(readMedia)-- Hannah Conine (Conesus, NY/Livonia) of The College at Brockport Women's Soccer team has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Defensive Player of the Week. Conine and the Golden Eagles clinched the team's first ever regular season SUNYAC title and earned a first-round bye in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament.
Conine has been named the SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week, the first conference honor in her Brockport career. The junior helped the Golden Eagles clinch the regular season title after posting four saves against Potsdam and five against Plattsburgh. Conine played all 90 minutes in the win over the Cardinals on Saturday to earn the victory.
In Brockport's last four games, Conine has allowed just two goals and has earned four victories. The two goals allowed are the only goals Conine has given up in 10 appearances this season, giving her a .37 goals against average on the year.
The Golden Eagles earned the first round bye and will take on the winner of No. 4 seed Cortland and No. 5 seed Buffalo State on Oct. 31. Game time is set for 1:00 pm at A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field.
