WHO: | The Susan Odell Taylor School |
WHAT: | Each school year at the Susan Odell Taylor School students and their families come together to give thanks for the bounty of the harvest through food and song. The students prepare side dishes of muffins, bread, handmade butter, succotash, and vegetables to share. Family members bring their own main dish. We will have three sittings, 11:00, 12:00 and 1:00 with the youngest children going first and the older children following. The fifth and sixth grade class has been hard at work preparing for their musical presentation of “Simple Gifts”. The band includes a; violin, drum, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and a saxophone. Students have also been hard at work creating the centerpieces for the tables and other festive decorations for the feast. All of the students have been studying various topics relating to the Thanksgiving holiday; it’s origin, meaning and importance. “This is an event that the students and their families look forward to every year. It is truly wonderful to celebrate our wonderful school community.” said Wendy Pattison, Head of School. |
