James Bardenett Named SUNYAC Pitcher of the Week
BROCKPORT, NY (05/01/2012)(readMedia)-- Junior James Bardenett (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week. It is also the third time overall Bardenett has been selected this season.
The junior went eight strong innings against Oneonta in a conference nine-inning game on Friday to pick up the win. Bardenett allowed just one earned run while scattering six hits. He also struck out two batters while issuing just two walks. Bardenett improved to 9-2 on the year with the nine wins tying a Brockport single season record. His earned run average is currently at 2.45 and ranks first in the SUNYAC in wins and innings pitched with 69.2.
Bardenett's win against Oneonta clinched the No. 2 seed for Brockport in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament. The Golden Eagles will take on No. 3 seed Oneonta on Friday, May 4 at 3:30 pm.
