Joe Scibilia Named Brockport, NJAC Player of the Week

Scibilia has won both awards for the second straight week

BROCKPORT, NY (09/10/2012)(readMedia)-- Senior Joe Scibilia (North Tonawanda, NY/Starpoint) of the Brockport football team has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week following a career-best performance in a 38-24 victory over Buffalo State on Saturday. The Golden Eagles improved to 2-0 on the season.

Scibilia threw for a career-high 374 yards against the Bengals, the fourth highest single-game total in Brockport team history. Scibilia threw three touchdowns on the day- scores of 67, 32, and 70 yards. The senior captain also contributed 40 rushing yards on eight attempts for the day.

Scibilia has also been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Scibilia threw for over 300 yards and two touchdowns last week against Lycoming. Brockport's signal caller ranks first in the conference in passer efficiency and passing yards per game.

Brockport returns to action on Sept. 15 for Homecoming Weekend at Brockport. The Golden Eagles will host The College of New Jersey at 1:30 pm.
