BROCKPORT, NY (04/02/2013)(readMedia)-- Junior Julie Arnold (Fredonia, NY/Fredonia) has been named The College at Brockport Female Athlete of the Week after leading the softball team to four State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victories over the weekend.

Arnold started all four games behind the plate as the Golden Eagles earned two victories over Potsdam on Friday and two more over No. 25 nationally ranked Plattsburgh on Saturday. Arnold scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning in game one against Plattsburgh.

The junior collected two hits in the doubleheader with Potsdam while also scoring one run and adding an RBI. Arnold also stole a base and was hit by a pitch as Brockport cruised to a 9-0 victory in game one and followed up with a 5-1 victory in game two.

Against the Cardinals on Saturday, Arnold went 2-2 with an RBI double and was hit by a pitch. Arnold singled in the eighth inning and advanced to second on an interference call. On the next at-bat Arnold came around to score on a double from teammate Caitlyn Rana (Ballston Lake, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake). Behind the plate, Arnold also threw out one runner and tagged another runner out at home.

Arnold is batting .324 on the year with 11 hits and nine runs batted in.
