Kaila Maguire Named SUNYAC Player of the Week
BROCKPORT, NY (05/01/2012)(readMedia)-- Junior Kaila Maguire (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam) of The College at Brockport Women's Lacrosse team has been named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Player of the Week after scoring seven goals in two games.
Maguire saved her best performance for the final seconds of the week, scoring the game-winning goal with two seconds left on the clock to defeat Oneonta on Saturday, 15-14. Maguire's goal clinched the No. 4 seed in the SUNYAC Tournament for Brockport this weekend. Maguire scored four goals, including the final three for Brockport against the Red Dragons. Maguire also scored three goals in a 13-12 loss to Buffalo State earlier in the week.
With the playoff berth, Maguire and the Golden Eagles will head to the SUNYAC Tournament at Cortland and take on the top-seeded Red Dragons at 12:30 pm on Friday, May 4.
