Mandy Garlitch Receives Award from Financial Executives International
Beech Grove resident is one of only nine students to receive award and $1,000 scholarship

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (04/26/2011)(readMedia)-- Marian University senior Mandy Garlitch received an award from the Indianapolis chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) on April 21, 2011. Each year the organization recognizes the top nine accounting and finance students from central Indiana with the award and a $1,000 scholarship. Garlitch is from St. Paul, Indiana, and is majoring in accounting and finance. She has been on the university's Dean's List every semester and is a recipient of the Saints Francis and Clare Academic Scholarship (awarded for academic excellence) and the Henry K. Engel Accounting and Finance Scholarship (awarded for academic excellence, achievement, and ethics). Her internship experience includes Fastenal and Rush Memorial Hospital, where she was an accounting assistant.
Marian University alumnus Jim Meer '92 is a former recipient of the FEI award and president-elect of the organization. He serves as the global controller for EnerDel. Other university graduates to receive the FEI award include Brittany Knies '09 (award in 2008), John Pfifer '11 (award in 2010), and Jayne Stone '08 (award in 2007).
