NYS Independence Party Mourns the Loss of Former Chairman
ROCKY POINT, NY (05/03/2007)(readMedia)-- Jack Essenberg, a former State and Suffolk County Chairman of the Independence Party of New York, passed away yesterday in Frostproof, Florida at the age of 68.
"Jack was a leader in so many ways -- from his political activism to his devotion to his family, community and to his beloved church, Trinity Lutheran in Rocky Point, NY. Members of the State and County organizations throughout the State of New York offer our deepest condolences to his wife Carolyn, his son and all of the family as we mourn his passing," stated the current Chair, Frank MacKay.
Mr. Essenberg was State Chair in the 1990's during the party's formative years. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in the near future and those wishing to attend may call the church at (631) 744-9355.
