Northwestern College Concerto-Aria Contest Winners Announced
ST.PAUL, MN (02/13/2013)(readMedia)-- The Department of Music is proud to announce Benjamin Osterhouse and Julia Pagh as winners of the 2012-13 Concerto-Aria Competition. They were among the ten contestants that participated in the annual event held on Thursday, February 9, 2013, in Nazareth Chapel:
Benjamin Osterhouse, cello, won the Concerto division with his performance of Cello Concerto No. 1 in C Major, Hob VIIb:1, accompanied by Janet Scovill, piano. Ben studies cello with Sachiya Isomura and is pursuing a Music Performance degree. He is a senior from St. Paul, Minnesota.
Julia Pagh, soprano, won the Aria division with her performance of Je dis que rien ne m'épouvante from Carmen, accompanied by Sonja Grimes. Julia studies voice with Carol Eikum and is pursuing a Music Performance degree. Julia is a senior from Apple Valley, Minnesota.
Benjamin and Julia will perform as featured guest artists with the Northwestern College Orchestra, under the direction of David Kozamchak, on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. in Maranatha Hall, on the campus of Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
