University of Northwestern Choir & Strings 2016 Tour to visit North and South Dakota

The eight city tour will start March 8 and go through March 13

Park Christian School, Moorhead, Minn.

  • Wednesday, March 9, 7 p.m.

Bismark Baptist Church, Moorhead, Minn.

  • Friday, March 11, 10 a.m.

Sioux Falls Christian School, Sioux Falls, S.D.

  • Friday, March 11, 1:30 p.m.

Lincoln High School, Sioux Falls, S.D.

  • Friday, March 11, 7 p.m.

Cathedral of St. Joseph, Sioux Falls, S.D.

  • Saturday, March 12, 7 p.m.

Viborg-Hurley High School, Viborg, S.D.

The Northwestern Choir and Strings, together with their conductors Timothy Sawyer and Kirk Moss, will tour in North and South Dakota from March 8 – March 13, performing in schools and churches. The program, entitled "Experience Live Music" includes a wide array of choral and orchestral music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, Felix Mendelssohn, Ralph Vaughan Williams, ?riks Ešenvalds, Edward Elgar, as well as hymns and spirituals. The tour includes a special appearance for the Sacred Arts Series at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Sioux Falls, SD.

A celebratory homecoming concert will be held on Friday, March 18 at 7:30p.m., in Totino Fine Arts Center on the University of Northwestern campus, located at 3003 Snelling Avenue North. Admission to these events is free and open to the public.
