University of Northwestern Symphonic Band to tour east coast
A bon voyage event will be held May 6 in Roseville, Minn.
ST.PAUL, MINN. (04/28/2016)(readMedia)-- The UNW Symphonic Band, directed by John S. Herlihy, will travel throughout the east coast-touring the states of New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The band will perform concerts that feature classical and contemporary wind band repertoire, including Nathan Daughtrey's Black Rainbow, Puszta by Jan Van der Roost, Samuel Barber's Commando March, and Danzas Cubanas by Robert Sheldon. The tour will visit the following cities:
Wednesday, May 18 in Woodbridge, VA
Thursday, May 19 in Baltimore, MD
Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22 in Cape May, New Jersey
Monday, May 23 in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey
The UNW Symphonic Band Bon Voyage Concert will be held before the tour on Friday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Roseville Covenant Church. Roseville Covenant Church is located at 2865 Hamline Ave. N, Roseville, MN 55113. This concert is free and open to the public.
