Northwestern College Presents 'Godspell'

ST.PAUL, MINN. (02/19/2009)(readMedia)-- Northwestern College Theatre presents Godspell Feb. 25–28 on the Northwestern campus. Performances will be Feb. 25, 26 and 27 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. in Maranatha Hall, 3003 Snelling Avenue North, St. Paul, Minn. Directed by Don Rainbow with musical direction by Michael Pearce Donley (Triple Espresso creator/actor), Godspell is a spirited celebration of the Gospel of Matthew, set on a California beach. The fully staged musical drama production features a student cast and ensemble orchestra.

Godspell was one of the longest-running off-Broadway musicals before it opened on Broadway in 1976. It was conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelak, with music and new lyrics by award-winning composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz.
