Who: Geneva College, in partnership with the Community College of Beaver County and Penn State Beaver
When: Monday, November 19, 2012 from 1:30 – 3 p.m.
What: "Building the New Beaver County Economy: Higher Education-Partners in Economic Development Forum"-a discussion to identify ways in which local colleges can collaborate with local industries to assist in the economic development of the region.
The forum will include:
- A panel discussion moderated by Bill Flanagan, executive vice president of Corporate Relations for the Allegheny Conference Community Development, veteran broadcast journalist and host of the business affairs program "Our Region's Business"
- Two groups of panelists-one comprised of leaders in higher education in Beaver County: President of Geneva College Dr. Kenneth Smith, President of Community College of Beaver County Dr. Joe D. Forrester and Chancellor of Penn State Beaver Dr. Gary B. Keefer; and another of business leaders: Eaton Corporation Plant Manager Robert Griffin, Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse President and CEO John Manzetti, and Heritage Valley Health System CEO Norm Mitry.
- Keynote speaker C. Alan Walker, Pennsylvania's Secretary for the Department of Community and Economic Development; followed by a question and answer session.
