Randy Credico Explains Why He's Challenging Sen. Schumer in Exclusive Empire Page Interview
ALBANY, NY (11/29/2009)(readMedia)-- In an exclusive interview published today on the Empire Page website, Randy Credico, political comedian and activist, minces no words on why he is planning to enter the Democratic primary next year against incumbent U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer.
"Schumer represents just about everything wrong with the current state of the Democratic Party," Credico says. "I am sickened by his legislative record and his politics, and how he has gone unchallenged for all these years."
What doesn't Credico like about Schumer? Almost everything. He blames Schumer for contributing to the country's economic crisis, for his support of "bothbloody Afghan and both Iraqi wars" and for "the unconscionable growth of the current 'prison industrial complex.'"
Credico states he's in the process of raising money and putting together a statewide organization.
What will he do if he doesn't get enough signatures to primary Schumer? "If it looks like the career party hacks like Denny Farrell are going to deny me access to the ballot to challenge Chuck in the primary, then I will bypass the primary process altogether and make a stink of it and then run on another line in the general election," Credico states.
