SCHENECTADY, NY (04/26/2012)(readMedia)-- The Whitney Book Corner, located at 600 Union Street, Schenectady, will celebrate their tenth anniversary with an Open House on Thursday, May 3, from 10 am to 7 pm. There will be refreshments, coupons for free books, and a drawing for a gift basket. Gail Karl, the store manager, will celebrate the event with a few remarks at 4 pm.
The Whitney Book Corner, run by the Friends of the Schenectady County Public Library and staffed entirely by volunteers, sells quality used books, cds, dvds, and books on tape. The store is open from 10-4 Monday through Friday (til 7 on Thursday), 10:30-3 on Saturdays and 1:30-3:30 on Sundays.All proceeds are used to beneift the library system.
