Statement from CSEA President Mary E. Sullivan on the State of the State
ALBANY, NY (01/14/2025) (readMedia)-- CSEA applauds Governor Kathy Hochul for her commitment to working people in her state of the state address today. Her focus on affordability for middle class families is just what our state needs to bounce back from record inflation. Her priorities include reducing income taxes for the middle class, as well as inflation rebate checks and helping New Yorkers to buy their first homes. She also proposes a historic increase in the child tax credit as well as free breakfast and lunch meals for students k-12.
Her attention to our state's safety and security including making speed zone camera's permanent and increasing penalties for assault on all transportation workers, is a major step toward making our communities safer.
On behalf of all CSEA members, we look forward to working with the Governor and the State Legislature to move New York forward.
