TROY, NY (03/21/2011)(readMedia)-- For the 8th year in a row, the pre-kindergarten class at the Susan Odell Taylor School will be bringing a bit of Spring to the school. Each year, the students sell daffodils as a service learning project which benefits the American Cancer Society.
The students collect and count the money for the flowers. They then determine how many flowers they need to order and how many flowers go to each customer. A majority of the customers are staff of the school or parents of the students. This year, the class raised $1,125. for the charity.
As is also tradition, the students don their special (hand made) flower hats and march around the school delivering the flowers (on delivery day). Delivery Day this year is March 22nd (at 10:30 a.m.).
