Taylor School Students to educate community on composting

Students host booth at Troy Farmers Market

TROY, NY (11/28/2012)(readMedia)-- The Susan Odell Taylor School's Green Team will be hosting a booth at the Troy Farmers' Market on December 1st from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Farmer's market is held at the Uncle Sam Atrium in downtown Troy (Fulton at 3rd & 4th Streets).

The purpose of the booth will be to educate the community on the benefits and uses of composting. Students in the 5th and 6th grades at the school have formed a Green Team. The team works to recycle and keep a composting unit at the school. The compost is then used in the school's garden.

The students are eager to share what they have learned about composting and the environment with the community. They will show how other households can make a big difference by living green(er).
