BEAVER FALLS, PA (02/03/2012)(readMedia)-- This semester's Geneva College Theatre production, She Stoops to Conquer, will run February 16-18 and 23-25. Weekday shows begin at 8 p.m., with Saturday matinees at 2 p.m. Performances will be at Geneva's Studio Theatre, which is located next to Sheetz on 4th Avenue in Beaver Falls, PA. Tickets cost $5 for general admission, $3 for students and seniors, $2 for children under the age of 12, $2 group rates, and $3.50 for faculty and staff.
The play is directed by David Kuhns with Tiffany Battey staring as Kate and Joe Grondziowski as Marlow.
She Stoops to Conquer was written by Oliver Goldsmith in the 18th century. The show is a high comedy play about Kate Hardcastle, the daughter of a wealthy countryman. She pretends to be a lowly maid in order to secure the affections of, Charles Marlow, a wealthy gentleman from London. Charles is shy around women of his own social class, and is only comfortable around women of lower social status.
