San Diegans Tom Stone, Debbie Ford and Marshall Goldsmith Wow Members
CARLSBAD, CA (02/18/2008)(readMedia)-- You can be a hero in your own hometown! The San Diego Professional Coaches Alliance (SDPCA) began the year with a slate of locally based national and international speakers, Tom Stone and Debbie Ford. Next up on March 14, 2008, is Marshall Goldsmith, coach to top executives in many of the world’s leading companies, a prominent speaker and educator, and the well-known author of many books and articles on leadership.
Goldsmith is one of the foremost authorities on how to help leaders achieve positive, measurable changes in their own behavior and in the behavior of their people and teams. His topic will address his latest best seller, What Got You Here Won't Get You There: How Successful People Become Even More Successful is a must read.
In his coaching career, Goldsmith has worked with over 70 CEOs and their management teams. He continues to conduct workshops for executives, high-potential leaders and HR professionals. Recently, the American Management Association named. Goldsmith as one of the 50 greatest thinkers and business leaders who have most influenced the field of management. Forbes named him as one of the five most-respected executive coaches. Goldsmith also contributes a regular column to Fast Company.
“We are really honored to have speakers of this caliber offer their wisdom and expertise,” said executive coach Elizabeth Fried, Vice President of Marketing /PR for SDPCA and President of The Learning Engine. “We always walk away with a nugget or two to help make us better coaches and offer more to our clients."
Also, sharing his insights, Tom Stone kicked off the January 14, 2008 meeting with “The 12 killers of Coaching Presence and How to Purge them from your Coaching and your Life.” He offered penetrating insights into what kills coaching presence and how to overcome these subtle, but powerful, saboteurs of coaching.
Stone is founder and CEO of Great Life Technologies, LLC, and the creator of the Core Dynamics of Common Problems, Core Dynamics Coaching and Coach Training, WaveMaker Coaching and the Pure Awareness Techniques. He is an internationally acclaimed speaker, seminar presenter and coach trainer. Stone is the author of two books, Pure Awareness - Five Simple Techniques for Experiencing Your Essential Nature, and Be Smoke Free Now - Breakthrough Techniques for Becoming a Non-Smoker Now and for the Rest of Your Life.
Thomas Leonard, founder of Coachville, who received personal coaching from Stone claimed, "Tom Stone is nothing short of a genius. Tom is an expert in the area of dynamics—he, more than anyone I've ever met, can recognize what is going on. He has the cleanest energy of ANYONE I've ever met. Bar none."
On February 11, 2008 the group was entranced by Debbie Ford as she discussed "Recognizing and Overcoming Self-Sabotage." With insight and deep compassion, she helped the group understand the root cause of self-sabotaging behaviors, identify the signposts that indicate a client is on a path to personal or professional disaster, and offered tools to counter self-destructive tendencies through the use of proven spiritual and behavioral antidotes.
A number one New York Times best-selling author, Ford's books have sold more than one million copies and are translated into 32 languages. Starting with the publication of The Dark Side of the Light Chasers, Her six books also include: The Secret of the Shadow; Spiritual Divorce; The Right Questions; The Best Year of Your Life.
“The group was in rapt attention, as Debbie read excerpts from her newest book, Why Good People Do Bad Things: How to Stop Being Your Own Worst Enemy, scheduled for release in March 11,” said Michelle Berns, strategic talent coach and Board Member at Large. Ford will appear live on Good Morning America on March 10.
