University of Northwestern – St. Paul presents triumphant musical OLIVER!

ST.PAUL, MN (10/10/2014)(readMedia)-- University of Northwestern – St. Paul (UNW) announces UNW Theatre's production of Lionel Bart's triumphant classic OLIVER! The musical is Oct. 31–Nov. 1 and Nov. 5–8 at 7 p.m. at Maranatha Hall on Northwestern's campus at 3003 Snelling Ave. N., St. Paul, Minn. OLIVER!, directed by Jennifer Hunter, with music direction by David Kozamchak and vocal direction by Doreen Hutchings, is set in the bustle and bedlam of 1850's London. Lionel Bart's jubilant and moving stage adaptation brings new life to Charles Dickens' timeless story Oliver Twist. From Food, Glorious Food to As Long As He Needs Me, pocket-picking orphans and overfed gentlemen reimagine this classic tale with song and spectacle. This heralded musical first ran for 2,618 performances when it premiered in London in 1960 and has seen revivals across the globe ever since.
