UPPER HUDSON PLANNED PARENTHOOD APPOINTS NEW BOARD OFFICERS/MEMBERS

(Albany, NY September 5, 2013) New members and officers have been elected to the Upper Hudson Planned Parenthood Board of Directors for the 2013-2014 term.

Coming onto the UHPP Board this year are Saima Anjam of Albany, lobbyist at Environmental Advocates of New York; Dyrleif Bjarnadottir oF Albany, Self-Employed; Alexandra Blais of Schenectady, Health Educator at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; Deanne Braveman of Albany, Attorney/Lobbyist at Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein; Karla Gareau of Troy, Development Officer at Equinox, Inc.; Kent Sopris of Watervliet, Government Affairs Coordinator at ACEC New York; Beth Simon Swarts of Slingerlands, Attorney (Retired)/Writer.

Elected as officers to the Board were: as Chairperson, Christa Christakis of East Greenbush; as First Vice Chairperson, Lara Kassel of Albany; as Second Vice Chairperson, Jill Rafferty-Weinisch of Troy; as Recording Secretary, Jack Mahoney of Averill Park; as Corresponding Secretary, Deborah Blackburn Shakotko of Hudson; as Immediate Past-Chair, Deborah Rosen Zamer of Albany; and as Treasurer, Sara Oberst of Troy.
