Bob Reisinger of Waterloo Receives Highest Award from the Iowa Association of Realtors®

CLIVE, IA (10/14/2011)(readMedia)-- The Iowa Association of Realtors® (IAR) congratulates Robert "Bob" Reisinger of Waterloo, this year's recipient of the O.G. Powell/Joan Ballantyne Distinguished Service Award. The IAR presented the award at the IAR Inaugural Gala held Sept. 14 in West Des Moines.

The O.G. Powell/Joan Ballantyne Distinguished Service Award, which is the highest award given by the Iowa Association of Realtors®, is designed to honor a person who has given long-term and outstanding service to the real estate industry.

Reisinger is the Executive Vice President (EVP) of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Board of Realtors® and has been involved in real estate for nearly 40 years. After receiving his real estate license in 1972, he was the owner and broker of Stokes – Reisinger Realtors in Waterloo.

Reisinger served as president of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Board of Realtors® in 1980 and moved into the EVP position in 1994. He received the President's Award from the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Board of Realtors® in 2002 and again in 2006. He is also a member of several IAR committees and has served as chair of the Executive Officers Committee. In 2008 he was inducted into IAR's prestigious Omega Tau Rho service fraternity.

"Bob has a steady and strong presence in the association," says Kurt Schade, president of the IAR. "He continually shares his great ideas, passion and service to the association and the real estate industry; and we are happy to recognize his efforts."

Reisinger attended the University of Northern Iowa and then served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971. He contributes much time and energy to organizations in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls community. Reisinger has served as past chair of the Waterloo Chamber Community Enhancement Council and past president of the Waterloo Jaycees. In 2010 he was appointed to serve on the Mayor's GROW Waterloo Task Force as well as the Waterloo Community Development Board. He donates his time to the United Way and has served as a member of the following boards: Waterloo Board of Adjustment; Waterloo Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors; Waterloo Community Development Board Neighborhood Finance Steering Committee; Cedar Valley Alliance Housing Strategy Task Force; and Waterloo School Board Communication Enhancement Committee.

Reisinger has attended the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) Association Executive Institute and has received many of the highest certifications in his field, including the Graduate Realtors® Institute (GRI), ePro for Executive Officers, Certified Professional Standards Administration and more.

The award is given in honor of Iowa Realtors® O.G. "Bill" Powell and Joan Ballantyne for their long-term dedication and service to the IAR and the NAR.
