According to Dave Bert, the CEO of the Iowa Association of Realtors®, "Kathy is a dedicated professional that commits a great deal of time to ensure the improvement of her skills as well as her fellow real estate professionals; not only locally, but state wide as well. Kathy's theory is to "Lead by listening" so her year will be dedicated to do just that; listen."
Miller has also served in various leadership roles on her local board, the Greater Sioux City Board of Realtors® (GSCBR), including serving on the Board of Directors for 15 years and President in 1994. She was chairperson of the Strategic Planning, Membership and Legislative Committees, and a member of the Finance, Executive and Member Professional Standards Committees. In 1995, she received the Realtor® of the Year award from GSCBR. She has earned several of real estate's highest designations: Certified Residential Broker (CRB), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI).
"As 2014 approaches and our world as we know it in real estate continues to change, the leadership team is already on the fast track," says Miller. "We are continuing to think of our members, staying ahead of the ongoing challenges Realtors® and our customers face. It is our job to protect property rights and homeownership. Going forward, we will be the driving force promoting homeownership."
Miller has a number of community involvements including affiliations with the Downtown Partner organization, St. Michaels Church, and the Vision Committee for the City of Sioux City. She also started the RockNRods Event in downtown Sioux City. Kathy is the proud mother of two daughters, Sara and Rachel.
