CLIVE, IA (11/12/2013)(readMedia)-- The Iowa Association of Realtors® (IAR) announced its 2014 leadership at its annual convention held in Altoona this fall. Kathy Miller of Sioux City was installed as President. Jon Yocum of Davenport was installed as President-Elect and Ken Clark of West Des Moines was installed as Treasurer.

Miller has been a licensed Realtor® in Iowa for more than 31 years. She has been with Coldwell Banker since 1985 and has been the broker/owner of Coldwell Banker Premier Realty in Sioux City since 1997. She has been an active member of IAR since 1995, serving on numerous leadership committees including the communications committee, nominating committee, executive committee, legislative committee, legal action committee and member services committee. She has served as a Regional Vice President for many years, was IAR's 2012 treasurer and then President-elect in 2013. She is also a Realtor® Political Action Committee trustee and a member of the Realtor® Foundation of Iowa.

According to Dave Bert, the CEO of the Iowa Association of Realtors®, "Kathy is a dedicated professional that commits a great deal of time to ensure the improvement of her skills as well as her fellow real estate professionals; not only locally, but state wide as well. Kathy's theory is to "Lead by listening" so her year will be dedicated to do just that; listen."

Miller has also served in various leadership roles on her local board, the Greater Sioux City Board of Realtors® (GSCBR), including serving on the Board of Directors for 15 years and President in 1994. She was chairperson of the Strategic Planning, Membership and Legislative Committees, and a member of the Finance, Executive and Member Professional Standards Committees. In 1995, she received the Realtor® of the Year award from GSCBR. She has earned several of real estate's highest designations: Certified Residential Broker (CRB), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and Graduate, Realtor Institute (GRI).

"As 2014 approaches and our world as we know it in real estate continues to change, the leadership team is already on the fast track," says Miller. "We are continuing to think of our members, staying ahead of the ongoing challenges Realtors® and our customers face. It is our job to protect property rights and homeownership. Going forward, we will be the driving force promoting homeownership."

Miller has a number of community involvements including affiliations with the Downtown Partner organization, St. Michaels Church, and the Vision Committee for the City of Sioux City. She also started the RockNRods Event in downtown Sioux City. Kathy is the proud mother of two daughters, Sara and Rachel.

IAR officers, including Miller, Yocum and Clark, volunteer in these leadership positions while still selling real estate in their respective communities.
