Empire State Daybook Now Free to News Media

ALBAN, NY (09/16/2008)(readMedia)-- The Empire State Daybook, a political events calendar founded by Empire Information Services (now readMedia), has a new home and is now free to the news media Peter G. Pollak, Publisher & Editor, announced today.

Launched a decade ago, Empire State Daybook was a fee-based service with press release issuers and the media alike paying the cost for EIS/readMedia to monitor key organizations and then collate upcoming events into a listing document that was faxed or emailed to subscribers.

Today, the Daybook resides on the home page of the Empire Page website in the form of a calendar that shows a single day’s events when you mouse-over the date in question or a month’s worth of events when you click over to the calendar.

Organizations that wish to have events included in the Daybook submit them using an online form.

News organizations that wish to receive a daily email version of the Daybook may subscribe for no cost by clicking on the “calendar/subscribe” link under the calendar.

One difference between the old Empire State Daybook and the new one is that the Empire Page does not search out and add scheduled events from the governor or any other elected official. Only events submitted by the issuer are included.

The calendar software used for the Daybook was developed by Trumba Connect (www.trumba.com).

The Empire Page is published by PoliticalNewsToday.com, LLC, which provides information and opinion on the key issues of the day through websites that aggregate content and provide time-saving features for people active in government and politics. The partnership consists of Peter G. Pollak, who is the majority shareholder and managing partner, Schwartz-Heslin Group and Wynantskill Capital.
