ALBANY, NY (01/30/2014)(readMedia)-- LOVELY TO LOOK AT (United States, 1952, 103 minutes, color, directed by Mervyn Grayson and Vincente Minnelli) will be shown on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. in Page Hall, 135 Western Avenue, on the University at Albany's downtown campus. Sponsored by the New York State Writers Institute as part of its Classic Film Series, the screening is free and open to the public.

A lush 1950s Technicolor remake of the 1935 Astaire and Rogers musical ROBERTA, this romantic comedy, starring Kathryn Grayson, Howard Keel, Red Skelton, and Ann Miller, is among the most visually dazzling films of its era. Extraordinary dance numbers, hilarious hijinks, classy dames, and standards by songwriter Jerome Kern, along with a gossamer storyline that mixes Broadway glitz and Parisian high fashion make the perfect Valentine's Day treat.
