ALBANY, NY (02/21/2017) (readMedia)-- SEARCH AND DESTROY (United States, 1995, 90 minutes, color, directed by David Salle) will be shown on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in Page Hall, 135 Western Avenue on the University at Albany's downtown campus. Sponsored by the New York State Writers Institute as part of its Classic Film Series, the screening is free and open to the public.
A two-bit entertainment promotor with dreams of becoming a movie producer attempts to raise cash for his first project in this satire of the hustling and big money of Hollywood. The film is an adaption of Howard Korder's 1990 play and was produced by Martin Scorsese, with renowned painter David Salle making his directorial debut. It has an impressive cast including Dennis Hopper, Jason Ferraro, Ethan Hawke, and Illeana Douglas.
David Salle, director of SEARCH AND DESTROY, and an internationally renowned painter, will appear at the Writers Institute on March 23 at 7:00 p.m. in the Recital Hall, Performing Arts Center on the UAlbany Uptown Campus as part of The Creative Life Series.
