GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA (05/19/2010)(readMedia)-- Melissa Dziedzic, who resides in the Castor Gardens section of Northeast Philadelphia, received the Outstanding Student Leadership Award during Gwynedd-Mercy College's Honors Convocation on May 14.

The award is presented to a graduate who has provided exemplary leadership and service to the College and to fellow students over several years in non-elected or elected positions in a variety of co-curricular activities.

Dziedzic graduated with a bachelor's degree in human services on May 15.

Based on a 2009 national report from the American Enterprise Institute, Gwynedd-Mercy College ranked fourth in its category for high graduation rates. The college prepares students to become top professionals in the fields of allied health professions, arts and sciences, business, education and nursing. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1948, Gwynedd-Mercy College is a coeducational institution offering more than 40 associate, bachelor's and master's degree programs on a full- and part-time basis.
