ST.PAUL, MN (03/20/2013)(readMedia)-- Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minn., presents the Northwestern College Varsity Men's Chorus and Women's Chorale combined homecoming concert for their 2013 Spring Tours.

The Northwestern College Varsity Men's Chorus, directed by Timothy Sawyer, will tour April 27-29 to Winona, Stewartville, and Red Wing, Minn., returning to Northwestern College for their Homecoming Concert on Tuesday, April 30. Their tour will include a collaborative concert with the men of the Saint Mary's University Concert Choir and their director, Dr. Patrick O'Shea in the breathtaking acoustics of Saint Mary of the Angels Chapel on SMU's Winona campus; worship participation at Grace Evangelical Free Church and a performance at Stewartville High School; the NWC men then participate in choral exchanges with three choirs at Stewartville High School, and make a return visit to the Red Wing Correctional Facility, where they will perform for the assembled inmates and collaborate with RWCF's resident choir The Soul of Red Wing led by Metropolitan Boy Choir director Bea Hasselman.
The Northwestern College Women's Chorale, directed by Mary Kay Geston, D.M.A., will tour and perform April 25-28 in St. Paul, Rochester, and New Brighton, Minn., returning to Northwestern College for their Homecoming Concert on Tuesday, April 30. The choir kicks off its tour by singing in chapel for the student body of Concordia Academy, St. Paul, Minnesota, and will then travel to Rochester for outreach concerts in Lourdes Chapel at Assisi Heights and Saint Marys Chapel at Saint Mary's Hospital, part of Mayo Clinic. The choir will perform sacred and secular music about nature and the beauty of the earth including The Prayer of St. Francis, an arrangement by Minnesota composer René Clausen that was commissioned by and for the Women's Chorale, as well as Shaker songs, a spiritual, and folksongs. The choir will visit a working dairy farm before returning, and will sing at two worship services at Salem Covenant Church in New Brighton, Minnesota, on Sunday, April 28.
