ALBANY, NY (11/04/2011)(readMedia)-- "8 ½" (Italian, 1963, 138 minutes, b/w, in Italian with English subtitles, directed by Federico Fellini) will be shown on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in Page Hall, 135 Western Avenue, on the University at Albany's downtown campus. Sponsored by the New York State Writers Institute, the screening is free and open to the public.

Italian director Federico Fellini offers a tour of his subconscious in this tale of a narcissistic film director trying to get past a creative dry spell while the people around him demand another masterpiece. Starring Marcello Mastroianni and Claudia Cardinale, the film received a Best Foreign Film Oscar.
