Menands Farmers Market Car Show & Barbeque This Saturday

The Second Annual Car Show and Chicken Barbeque at the Capital District Farmers Market in Menands will take place this Saturday, August 16, from 8 am to 2 pm. Thanks to the sponsorship provided by NAPA Auto Parts and Michael Attanasio Insurance, again this year admission for patrons and show cars is free.

In addition to the Car Show, farmers and other vendors will be on hand selling the freshest products including in season vegetables, baked goods, cheeses, honey, and jams. Arts and crafts vendors will also be at the market with handmade jewelry and other items.

A BBQ chicken dinner will be available starting at 11 am. It will include chicken, potatoes, cole slaw, roll & butter, a drink, and a cookie. Advance tickets for the barbeque are available at the market office for $8.50, or they may be purchased the day of the Car Show for $9.50.

Radio station B95.5 will be on hand for part of the day with a live remote broadcast.

Judging for the Car Show trophies will begin at 11 am and the trophies will be awarded at 1:30 pm. Trophy categories include:

Best Restoration to Original

Best in Show

NAPA Auto Parts became a show sponsor this year because of they are a primary source of parts and accessories. Michael Attanasio Insurance also serves car buffs representing top insurance companies. Both companies will have representatives on hand on Saturday.
