URBANA, OH (07/25/2011)(readMedia)-- The Urbana University men's basketball team recently donated a care package to the Army's 329th Medical Company, which is currently stationed in Kuwait. Members of the team put together a package containing toiletries, food, books, and activities such as sudoku puzzles for the troops to enjoy during their service overseas.

"The care package was designed to show our support for the troops," explained Head Men's Basketball Coach Jeff Porter, a native of Kittanning, PA. "We wish we could do more to help them out as they fight for our country, but in the meantime, we wanted to show our appreciation with a care package. The team understands that our day-to-day lives would not be the same if not for the troops risking their lives for us to carry on playing basketball and receiving a college education."

Urbana University is a small, private NCAA Division II school located in west central Ohio.  The team chose the Army's 329th Medical Company because of Coach Porter's ties to the area.
