Glens Falls Mayor Jack Diamond Welcomes NY Special Olympics Fall Games
Activities get underway this Friday
GLENS FALLS, NY (10/17/2011)(readMedia)-- Mayor Jack Diamond has announced the details of this weekend's Special Olympics in Glens Falls. The Mayor encourages area residents to come out and support these great athletes from across New York State who are participating in this year's fall events. Diamond also noted that Special Olympics will be returning to Glens Falls for the 2012 Fall Events.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS for 2011 NY Special Olympics Fall Games
Opening Ceremonies: Friday, October 21st, 7:00 PM, Glens Falls Civic Center
Athletic Competition: Saturday, October 22nd, 8:30am-4:00pm
More than 500 athletes, coaches, from across the state will participate in seven Olympic-style sports including:
• Bocce – ADK Sports Complex, 326 Sherman Avenue, Queensbury,
• Cycling – Queensbury High School, 409 Aviation Road, Queensbury,
• Cross Country – Queensbury High School, 409 Aviation Road, Queensbury,
• Equestrian – Dream Catcher Ranch, 155 Burquist Road, Fort Ann,
• Golf – Hiland Park Country Club, 195 Haviland Road, Queensbury,
• Soccer – Morse Athletic Complex, Sherman Avenue, Glens Falls,
• Softball – ADK Sports Complex, 326 Sherman Avenue, Queensbury, and Morse Athletic Complex, Sherman Avenue, Glens Falls
